Sunset Watching from Dolphin Beach in Cape Town

Dolphin Beach, the most unforgettable sunset in the entire world! There are many places for watching sunset in Cape Town: ever popular Camps Bay where you can watch the sun set while sipping Mojito, as well as enjoying champaign alfresco on the top of the Lion’s Head mountain if you are into hiking. But arguably the most incredible of all is the sunset seen from the place called Dolphin Beach.

Positioned right across the bay from Cape Town city centre, it offers stunning panoramas of all the city’s famous mountains – Table Mountain, Devil’s Peak, and Lion’s Head. Judging by the pictures taken from there, one could think they were actually taken from the island or something, but that’s the trick!

Usually you have to turn your back on all the landmarks to see the sunset, but you can see everything from Dolphin Beach!

It is easy to get here; just drive down the M3 Road Following the “Table View” sign. There are many free parking lots along the beach and it’s easy to get through the dunes as there are special walking paths installed.

The winds here can be really strong, that’s why it is a perfect place for surfers. There are plenty of dog walkers here, too, so great for taking “sun setting dogs” pictures.:)

If you’re hungry, go to Blowfish Restaurant. Popular with locals from wealthy residents nearby, it offers lots of sushi and fresh fish, as well as great panoramas.
