The Golden Heart Pub

4

The Golden Heart pub – where the East London hipsters gather for some people watching and basically just to chill out and relax.

The Golden Heart Pub has been run by the same landlady – Sandra Esqulant, for 30 years now. It’s a Truman Brewery Pub in the heart of the Shoreditch/Brick Lane/Spitalfields trendy east London area. Popular with hipsters, fashionistas and artists, especially the Brit Art crowd such as Tracy Emin and Gilbert & George.
Bohemian crowd, in other words.

Perfect for ‘hanging out’ on Sundays when the Brick Lane Market is happening. It’s the place to see and be seen. Conveniently situated in front of the Lomography East store, All Saints fashion mecca and few vintage retro shows. Who needs fashion week when this crossroad is like a podium?:)

Service may not be the fastest and the music is usually awful, but that’s not why you go there. It’s all about soaking up the atmosphere of the place and doing some fun people watching. And, occasionally jumping on the tables to the tune of Single Ladies.:) They always have fresh flowers, from tulips to orchids, and a neon heart and a cupid in the window (a magnet for Lomographers).
