Voigtländer Vchrome 100 -Longest name | Best results

Size does matter! I know the title of this film doesn’t fit on any benjamin, but it is worth remembering this gem in the historic film-supermarket. Bright results, true and saturated colours and a feel-good-mood, when you get the results.

The legendary German photo-company Voigtländer is not only known for excellent cameras, but also for films. I don’t exactly know how long they produced print and slide-film. And it is quite likely, that they have used film material of another company.

One of my favourite films ever is Voigtländers Vchrome 100. I reckon it was only done fort he German market, hence the packaging is lacking of english explanations. I got hold on some boxes at eBay with an expiry date in 2003. The colours are very vibrant and I made some of my best shots in 2010 with that gem. It seems that it doesn’t show any loss of colour or any effect whatsoever on the material. Especially in bright sunlight it delivers astonishing sharp results. I would state, it is so good, that I wouldn’t take it for cross development. Actually I haven’t done it yet. So I will report how that looks like, when I have my first results up.

I would say the Vchrome builds a magic couple with the LC-A+. The Vignetting feels even more natural and the contrasts are strong. It seems like a further asset in the storytelling aspect of pictures mad with a Lomo-Cam. If you can get hold on such a gem.
