Taiwan photographer Chou Erh's First Impressions of the LomoApparat

Chou Erh , a photographer from Taichung, Taiwan, took Lomography's latest camera, the LomoApparat 21 mm Wide-angle Lens out for the first time! She recorded the precious time she spent with friends, from day to night, and captured as many interesting perspectives as she could. Let's check out her photos!

Hello Chou! Could you introduce yourself to the readers of our Online Magazine?

Hello! I am Chou Erh. I was born in Qingshui, Taichung, Taiwan in 1993. I majored in finance when I was in school. I started to get in touch with photography around 2014. After sharing some of my photos on social media, I started to become a photographer. I just entered the fourth year of my career as a photographer, and I am mainly shooting for commercial photography and event documentaries. I also started producing movies. Recently, I have been shooting documentaries for important events of my friends.

What were your first impressions upon receiving the camera?

I was impressed by the cuteness of the world map on the lens cover, and then I noticed the black camera strap has a good metal texture, and it's very lightweight.

I usually use mechanical film cameras. When I picked up the LomoApparat it gave me a relaxed feeling. I like the small and cute camera body, which I introduced to my friends too! (some already purchased!)

What's the feature you liked most?

I love its wide-angle lens! Usually when taking pictures, I will unconsciously take a few steps backwards with the camera in order to capture the full picture. Using the LomoApparat I could easily capture all the details. It surprised me a lot!

Have you tried adding the Kaleidoscope lens to shoot anything?

Looking at its diamond-like appearance at first, even seeing the official sample photos, I am still not sure how to capture things in a good way. But after the film development, I like this photo a lot:

The ducks were originally in a triangular team and transformed into a herringbone line through the filter. You will feel that this filter can change the perspective of the world, and it also has a variety of combinations.

Which photos do you like the most?

I personally like the photos taken during daytime the most, with Lomography Color Negative ISO 400 35 mm film used this time, it looks great and feels so comfortable!

Can you use three words to describe the LomoApparat?

Panoramic, diverse and fun.

Where would you take this camera?

I want to take it for a walk on the streets in Japan, to the city's high-rise buildings, ancient buildings, plum gardens, and around the places full of cherry trees, and even forests on top of the mountain. Through the the lens of LomoApparat , you can definitely have a panoramic view of the scene!
