The Imaginative Strategic Process of LomoAmigo Alexis Green from Bruce Mau Design

We met up with the incredible team of BMD and interviewed two of their awesome designers. Last, but not the least, Alexis Green, the Marketing and PR Manager at Bruce Mau Design shared with us her thoughts about photography, and her inspirations inside the studio.

Tell us a little bit about what you do, what your role at BMD is, and what your life philosophy is.
Marketing + PR Manager at BMD. I’m not really sure if I have a ‘philosophy’ per se, but I definitely stick with the notion – don’t be afraid to ask questions.

What inspires you to work at Bruce Mau Design?
The studio is a very open environment, no walls or cubicles; everyone sits and works around each other. People are collaborating and generating ideas around you all day, it’s really motivating to be surrounded by that energy. Also, I get to tell the stories of the work that we do and the amazingly talented designers who work here. At the end of the day, it’s the chance to tell those stories that intrigues or excites me most.

What activities outside from work inspire you further?
I find that If you get stuck, it’s helpful to take a break and step away from what you are doing. I learned that from one of the creative directors at BMD and it’s been really helpful.

In terms of fashion and style, what is your favorite decade? Why?
It really depends on my mood, but I will say I’ve always found that there’s something really romantic about 40’s fashion, photography, film.

Do you incorporate photography to your work? How?
Images are crucial to storytelling. When talking about the work that we do, it’s essential that we have beautiful images or video to help tell that story.

How do you execute your ideas?
When talking or writing about our work, it helps to think about who the audience is and what they would want to know about a project. As the writer, it’s good to put yourself in the shoes of someone else. For example, someone who is experiencing the environment our team designed or seeing an identity BMD created for the first time.

Analogue vs. Digital, what’s your stand?
Different strokes for different folks.

Describe your dream photograph that will show your personality?
Blue skies, sunshine, summertime…those are always my favorite pictures.

Are you working on other projects? Tell us about them.
Our team is going down to Austin, TX for SXSW. Looking forward to the Interactive conference, interesting people, parties and of course BBQ. Austin is awesome. I’m stoked!
