My good friend Jonatan organized a film festival in hios North Swedish home Nordingra. I sure came visiting. I am a big fan of his mom Margareta, who works as an artist in the north and stockholm, and so it was a sure thing, that I finally made some proper portraits within a few seconds. something to look back at...

Because we arrived super early in Båstnäs I had the place almost for myself. I could explore, I looked for tender glimpses of light in the abandonded car cemetery at the Norwegian border. I looked for these little moments, when technology got overtaken by nature, metal by black moss...

I went to the northern border of mankind. To Ny Ålesund in Svalbard, a science village, which is only accesible for scientiest a few journalists. Seems, that I am one of the first reporters, who came during the polar night. The overall setting for photography were hard, almost no light anymore, cold and wind. But I pulled some very sweet exposures. Most of the shots are done either with external light, long time exposures or flash - quite the opposite to most of my normal photography. Some shots are a bit shaky, because occasionally I didn't have a tripod and just placed the camera on the slippery ice. But it is what it is...

  • Release (Svalbard #2)

    shared by wil6ka on 2015-12-03

One of the most important tasks of the scientists in Ny Ålesund is the release of a Radio Sonde. Everyday sharp at 10:45 UTC a Balloon is released, flies up to 35 km and collects data on the second. Temperature, humidity and wind data is then collected to create your personal weather forecast...

There were some great moments to capture, when the sun glooms so warm at the black sea. And isn't it amazin how gogs have the same wanderlust as we have while looking at the vast water?

These are my first experimental shots using the EBS (Expose Both Sides) technique. A huge shout-out to @hodachrome for inventing (??) and/or perfecting this technique. I also have to thank @buckshot for his explanation on how to flip the film. Thank you!! :)

    shared by marcus_loves_film on 2012-10-19

I spent a good hour at Lake Marmo and the Millennium Oaks area at the Morton Arboretum and captured the changing lighting conditions until after sunset. The colors turned out amazing! I chose to use E-6 processing by PJ's Camera instead of my usual C-41 for more natural colors.Pictures with the Holga were underexposed and had to be corrected more than the pics from the LC-A.
