Haas Design Collective, Cape Town
written by neja on 2012-06-20 #placesHaas: coffee and art. When I lived in the colorful area of Bo-Kaap 7 years ago, I couldn't imagine finding SUCH a place there at all. But all these years later, things have changed for the good. Bo-Kaap is an area of Cape Town, South Africa formerly known as the Malay Quarter. It is quintessentially a Township, situated on the slopes of Signal Hill above the city centre and is a historical centre of Cape Malay culture in Cape Town.

Transient Living: Getting to Know the Neighborhood in Denver, Colorado
written by maliha on 2014-11-12 #placesEditor's Note: The past several years saw Maliha frequently moving from one place to another, a sort of nomad who likes the thrill of starting anew and finding her place in every city she stays at. In the last decade she has spent in the USA, Maliha has stayed at six different cities in five different states. Currently, Maliha is based in Denver, Colorado, and "Transient Living," a new series in the Lomography magazine, documents her experiences and the ways that she has come to call this city her home.

Brick Lane Coffee, London
written by neja on 2012-07-27 #placesBrick Lane Coffee - as quirky as it gets. This is what their web site page says: "We're locally owned and have been getting your orders wrong since 1999. All our milk is organic and always has been (even before it was trendy). Our coffee is fair trade organic and sourced directly by us (we've visited growers in Papua New Guinea twice)". Now here's what I have to say about it.

Travel Back in Time and Get a Village Feeling!
written by bloomchen on 2012-02-13 #placesNot too far away from the Schwabenmetropole Stuttgart in the south of Germany are a few small villages you might want to visit because you can travel back in time. Some places there haven't changed since the 70s. I know because I grew up there. It's only 15 minutes by car from the airport of Stuttgart and while you're at it: visit the incredible butcher there, get some great Schnaps from a more than 100-year-old family business or if you have the money, have dinner in one of the best restaurants of the whole country! But that's not my opinion because I haven't been there, I just read that from a gourmet guide.

It is one of the places I'd definitely take friends who are visiting Taipei - on the Old Street, you can find awesome local street food and fun night market games; if you take a short ferry ride across to the town of Bali and the Fisherman's Wharf, you'll find yourself in the perfect place for a scenic walk by the coast.
