How Lomography started my adventures with shooting film.
Back in High School about 4 years ago now I picked up my first Holga. I remember I was intrigued yet intimidated by the idea of film at the time. It took me a month or so to finally take it out for a whirl. Finally my long time photography buddy Molly and me whom both had holga’s decided to go shoot them. Living in Maui, HI we were able to take it up to the top of the crater to photograph the volcanic landscape. And right before I left for College I finished up the roll shooting a big surf swell on the north shore. Once I got around to developing the roll I was hooked after seeing the results. Ever since then I have acquired more cameras, shot several types of subjects, and processed many rolls. It all started with the snapshot idea with film and has led to me working with more technical film cameras such as the 4×5 and 8×10. But I always love shooting my Holga, and trying new lomography cameras because they provide a unique experience and result that is unlike anything else.
