I've noticed a few types of liking style. Which are you?

We talk about our photographs and how we arrive at them. But what about our likes and comments? How do they stack up.
With a photo, you can talk about many things: the type of camera you used, the type of film, the place, the time of day, your mood, etc. Likes limit themselves to a few styles:
1.) You like everything your friends produce
2.) You like everything your friends produce unless it is truly awful!
3.) You are careful to like only those photos which move you.
4.) You like a photo for each photo the other person likes of yours.
5.) You like only what you consider to be true lomographs (e.g. made by toy cameras) or heritage cameras, etc.
6.) You love it when people like your photos, but you don’t bother liking their work back. (Yes, I know a few of these. I won’t name names.)
I am a #3 most of the time. What about you?

I usually watch all the latest albums of my friends and even a few photos but I like ... may enjoy only the color or shape (abstraction), or the angle or something ... I do not like people in the photo and when the whole album is made up of people for me it is difficult (some party and such ... but I love the portraits.) I like rare pic with flash. I do not know what point )))))

Definitely 3 but also No 7, which would be, I barely have time to check out pictures :D

I think I'm #3 most of the time. But I regularly I check the new albums from friends, so it is quite likely that most of the pics I like are from my fiends. Although once in a while I like to click the random photo button and explore the millions of pics out there.
I also find that I like it when people write about the picture or the album because this helps when judging the photo and looking at it with a context (e.g. the first roll in a new camera, the conditions when the pic was taken, etc.)

For none. First for me is a way to pass time and relax in my profession. Secondly, I like photography in general regardless of the technique, camera, film or "trick". Otherwise in these pages a few honorable exceptions photo is total ignorance. I like the pictures that spike because at that point I say something. I like it here because I'm finding some "friends" who, from the point of view of sharing the same hobby, it is interesting to have known. And finally, remember that we are sharing a space that gives us a private company at all times maintains control and sets the tone of what we are doing. Thanks. Many greetings from Madrid :))

As in all the tears lingers a hope, in each blur hides beauty . generally I was following someone when basically I like these photos and even if both albums are less powerful I "like" all the same.

I'm definitely a number 3. I think it's great to get feedback especially if it's a picture I like myself.
I usually look at the thumbnails of an album and ctrl-click the ones that interest me to open them in a new tab. If I like the enlarged image, I click the "like and next" button, if not, I close that tab and check out the next tab.
If I really like an image I'll comment or leave a comment if I really liked an album.

Oh yeah, I always follow back people who follow me, like or comment on my pictures. I find people on lomography.com to be very sociable. 8D

Strictly #3 for me. I won't like a photo I don't genuinely like. I can't always explain, even in my own mind, why I like one picture and not the next. When I can (and I have time), I leave a comment.
I prefer to vary how I encounter photos rather than my approach to liking. Sometimes, I just look through the Selected photos and like the ones I like. More frequently, I look through friends' albums for stuff I like. Sometimes I look through my friends' friends list, choose a stranger at random, and then look at the photos that they've recently liked to see if I like any of the photos and to see if perhaps that person has similar tastes, since if they do, I might like a lot of their pictures, and they might be someone I would want to follow. I tend not to follow someone if I can't find any of their pictures that I like.

#3. I like visiting random homes and unpopular homes to look for interesting pictures. I avoid clicking the Popular photos link. I prefer to discover interesting photos on my own. When I follow someone new, I look at all the albums in that home, not just the new ones.

hmmm well, what you express with your like is sometimes nothing more than a mood! i claim i´m happy with #3 but as my attention is mainly on pics of friends it might mix with #2. but anyway: i can click through a whole album of someone i like but i don´t press the button. and i like to test myself via "selected" and i must say i´m straight with my likes: if i didn´t click the button in the album my opinion didn´t change because it was selected or was likes by many people. and what about the two types of uploaders: #1: everything, #2 filtered?

I am all of the above except for 4. I don't know how anyone would have the time to count! I am also a 'thanker' but 6 hits for articles as I don't write them for my benefit (though points are nice), and not if a photo goes 'handpicked' as I just cannot manage to track everyone.

I've always been a compulsive liker. I guess that makes me all but #5 & #6, I like to like :-)
