How I celebrate photography in my everyday life
6 35Carrying a cam or two or three when being around in the city doesn’t mean you are halfway there. To me scanning the streets for pics and being curious is the most important thing.
That means I almost step into every backyard I don’t know.
I try to take shots I never took before in matters of technique. For example lighttracks. And the good thing about it is that sometimes funny or weird things happen just like back then when I took this shot below when the police stopped because for them it was strange that a guy in sports outfit stood on a freeway-bridge in wintertimes.
I make detours so I get to know other streets and other backyards.
I see buildings and and think about what a shot would look like that I take out from a window there. And sometimes I am lucky enought so the door is open and amazingly there is a balcony on the 14th floor everybody can step on.
And then it is not only this one pic but maybe using this view as a layer for great doubles like this shot above which is the result of a swap with our dear community member sobetion.
And sometimes I have this idea like the ghost shot above but I couldn’t take this shot by myself so I needed help and this means I had to find somebody on the street who stands where I wanted him to stand or better he pressed the release and I stood where I thought it would be best.
And most important: I don’t listen to others and if I have an idea or I notice a great motif I just go ahead. If I miss my bus there will be a next one. If others are waiting for me I just tell them the exposure time is only 1/125 sec. or so.
And finally: YES I take my cams everywhere I go.
